I work as an independent freelance trainer and develop
and conduct courses mainly in Europe and occasionally in North America
and Asia. I am author of the frequently referred to "
Java
Generics FAQs
", an authoritative source on generic types in Java. I
am co-author of the books "
C++
Standard IOStreams and Locales
" published in 2001 by Addison Wesley
and "
Java
Core Programmierung
" published om 2011 by EntwicklerPress. I
wrote the column "Effective Standard Library" for the US magazines C++
Report and C/C++ Users Journal. For many years I have been writing
a
series of articles
entitled "Effective Java" for the German magazine
Java Magazin (formerly published in JavaSpektrum). I am a Java Champion,
a JCP (Java Community Process) member, and an observing member of the ISO/ANSI
C++ standards committee. I am a regular speaker at conferences all
over the world.
Currently my preferred fields of interest are training, coaching, and
mentoring in the area of software development in C++ and Java. I am most
interested in development of explanatory material, including course material,
multimedia training, books, and articles and I enjoy passing on my expertise
in lectures, seminars, and workshops.
My area of expertise is advanced C++ and Java programming, the development
of these programming languages, concurrent programming, performance analysis
